Conversations from the Void
This body of work uses reconfigured interiors to explore the tension created by the absence of the figure. Negative shapes, shadows, and traces of human presence suggest that something has occurred, or is about to occur, without revealing what that event might be. Fragments of different times and places are brought together to create spaces that feel familiar but cannot be fully located.
The interiors are intentionally reduced, stripped of most ornamentation and identifying detail. This allows absence itself to become a kind of presence, shifting attention toward what is missing, concealed, or only implied. Through collage, recognizable architectural spaces become psychologically uncertain, occupying a nebulous territory between the familiar and unrecognizable. Rather than resolving into a specific narrative, the works use ambiguity, displacement, and interruption to create a lingering sense of mystery.
